Going on trips can be super fun and exciting! But it’s important to stay healthy while you’re away from home. Here are some tips to help you feel your best on your next adventure.

Pack Healthy Snacks

Having nutritious snacks available can keep your energy up and prevent you from getting too hungry. Good options include fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, granola bars and veggie packs. Avoid lots of sugary, salty or fatty snacks which can make you feel sluggish.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water, especially if you’ll be outdoors a lot. Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it throughout the day. Limit sugary drinks like soda which can dehydrate you.

Get Enough Sleep

Not getting adequate rest can weaken your immune system and make you more prone to getting sick. Stick to your regular bedtime as much as possible when traveling. Bring earplugs or an eye mask (if needed) to create a good sleep environment.

Keep Moving

Being active helps circulation, digestion and your overall health. Go for walks, do jumping jacks or look for fitness classes near your destination. Aim for at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day.

Wash Your Hands Often

Germs spread easily when you’re touching new surfaces. Scrub with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially before eating and after using the bathroom. Carry hand sanitizer to use when you can’t get to a sink.

Manage Stress

Travel can be stressful with changes in routine and lots of stimulation. Take breaks for quiet time, deep breathing or listening to calming music. Getting adequate sleep and exercise also helps reduce stress.

Following these tips can help keep your body and mind feeling good on your trip!
