Maintaining Kidney Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The central mission of Renalogic has always been to drive positive change for kidney disease and help members thrive while living with chronic conditions. These values hold even more now with our member’s lives so significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

While many elective healthcare services around the country have come to a halt as a result of the pandemic, dialysis remains an essential life-sustaining need for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Unfortunately, people with CKD are also among the most vulnerable. Ensuring safe access to dialysis amid the pandemic continues to be a work in progress. Two of the largest dialysis providers and other kidney care organizations have recently teamed up to create a nationwide network of clinics to serve dialysis patients with COVID-19.

Since the start, Renalogic has worked with at-risk members to delay, and often avoid dialysis, and continues to support members at no cost through its Member Advocacy Program (MAP). Through the program, members are provided with valuable resources to help manage their kidney disease during this time, including:

  • Navigating Medicare Part B, such as the 30-month coordination period before it becomes primary, and how to protect yourself from balance billing
  • Evaluation of home dialysis opportunities, including advantages and eligibility
  • How to choose a dialysis clinic based on the best medical outcomes
  • Exploring early transplant options and benefits

Advocating for Chronic Kidney Disease patients is critical in this uncertain and dangerous environment. Please fill out the form below for more information regarding the MAP and other specialized kidney care programs.
