Saves Clients $26M in the First Quarter While Improving Member Health
CHICAGO, IL (May 5, 2022) – Renalogic, the leading company helping employers and self-funded health plans fight the human and financial costs of chronic kidney disease, today announced substantial cost savings and clinical results on behalf of its clients.
By providing its proprietary cost containment and care management services to self-funded plans with employees and members suffering from CKD and utilizing dialysis, Renalogic saved clients $26 million in the first quarter of 2022. Without Renalogic, dialysis can cost self-funded plans $250,000 – $350,000 per year, per employee or member, with outliers costing as much as $1 million.
Pioneering CKD-focused services for self-funded plans 20 years ago, today Renalogic supports the health of more than 450,000 self-funded plan members, across more than 400 plans. By applying Renalogic’s proprietary risk algorithm, employees/members are identified prior to being formally diagnosed with CKD. That allows the dedicated clinical team at Renalogic to engage with members to help minimize, and in many cases reverse, the progression of chronic kidney disease and more importantly avoid needing dialysis altogether.
“We are very proud of the results our team achieved in the first quarter,” said Kevin Weinstein, CEO of Renalogic. “Combined with our proprietary cost containment methodology, our NCQA certified clinical services create measurable clinical and financial results,” he noted.
“As an organization, we focus on continual improvement,” said Mark Masson, Chief Operating Officer at Renalogic. “We rely on the latest clinical research and data science improvements to hone our service offering, and positively impact our clients’ members’ lives,” he said.
